SAFETY

At Layton Services, safety is more than a protocol — it's a promise. We are dedicated to ensuring every team member returns home safely to their family at the end of each day.

Our leadership sets the tone by making safety a core organizational value, providing the resources necessary, and leading by example.

We believe that making safety a shared responsibility, and a clearly communicated priority, sets us apart in the industry. Our crews are trained to proactively identify hazards and implement proper industry practices directly on-site.

To ensure our approach remains effective, we periodically assess our safety programs and take action when improvements are needed. This ongoing commitment to excellence not only protects our team but also brings lasting value to our clients. By recognizing the critical importance of safety in our industry, Layton Services delivers peace of mind on every project.

TOMORROW

YOUR REWARD FOR WORKING SAFELY TODAY

OUR COMMITTMENT

OSHA TRENCHING &
EXCAVATING

All Field Personnel are required to complete this OSHA-certified training, which includes comprehensive instruction in practical soil mechanics, types of shoring, and other proper use of protective systems.

This equips our team with the knowledge and skills needed to assess ground condition, implement safe trenching methods, and utilize protective equipment effectively.

OSHA 10-HOUR

Designed for general field positions, this course expands awareness of common safety and health hazards in the construction industry. It promotes a strong foundation in hazard recognition and prevention.

OSHA 30-HOUR

Geared towards field supervisors and employees with safety responsibilities,

this in-depth course provides a broader understanding of workplace hazards, OSHA regulations, and risk mitigation strategies.

NEW HIRE
TRAINING

Every team member is hired with a clear understanding of their role and responsibilities. We uphold a culture of accountability, where individuals are not only expected to meet standards but are encouraged to exceed them. Through continuous training, our crew is equipped to recognize workplace hazards and fully understand the control measures in place.

This commitment is key to maintaining the safety of our job sites and continuing the strong reputation we've built within the industry.

TOOLBOX
TALKS

Each Foreman hosts weekly on-site safety meetings with their crews. These sessions provide an essential opportunity to communicate any jobsite updates or changes in working conditions, discuss high-risk tasks for the week ahead, and, most importantly, reinforce core safety principals. By consistently reviewing these key topics, we keep safety at the forefront of every operation and ensure our teams are prepared to work responsibly and efficiently.

DRUG-FREE
WORKPLACE

Layton Services voluntarily participates in Ohio's BWC Drug-Free Workplace Program. Maintaining a drug-free workplace is a critical component of our overall safety strategy, and demonstrates our continued commitment to a responsible work environment. Drug testing is a proven and effective measure that not only enhances safety but also improves productivity and reliability across our operations. It helps prevent accidents, protect our team from injury, and maintain a focused, dependable workforce. We conduct pre-employment, random, and post-accident drug testing.

DRIVE-SAFE
PROGRAM

At Layton Services, safety extends beyond the jobsite and onto the road. Our Drive Safe Program is designed to promote safe, responsible driving habits for all employees operating company vehicles. Key focus areas include: Defensive Driving Techniques, Speed Awareness, Distraction Prevention, and Weather-Related Driving Protocols. Each company vehicle is connected to its assigned driver through a GPS app, which provides real-time data on: Speeding Events, Cell Phone Usage While Driving, Hard Braking and Rapid Acceleration.
